Ever thought about yourself, habits, and hobbies in a certain way or limited your idea of what works for or is enjoyable for you? I have, even up until very recently, and honestly, I am still discovering and exploring new things about myself and what's possible and of interest--which I find to be so beautiful. So much joy in life comes from discovery and exploration, and it's never too late to keep on trying. I love how we can grow and evolve at any stage of life and continue to learn about ourselves along the way. This can feel scary or daunting, exciting and adventurous, or a mix of all the above and beyond, but nonetheless, it is powerful and beautiful to maximize the time we have in this life and part of that journey is exploring different dimensions of ourselves and our environments and the possibilities within.

My husband and I just returned from an epic road trip across different parts of the US and Canada, and it was an all-around great experience. This road trip has however, got me thinking a lot about growth, expanded perspective, taking risks, and change, and comfort zones. Even though I grew up with road trips as a part of my annual summer plans and in the backdrop of my childhood, I've never thought of myself as a road trip enthusiast, and I even developed a block in my mind after about 2 hours of driving since I began doing more of my own trips. I thought I was limited to airplane views and frequent flyer miles. That was until I met my husband, a certified risk-taker, adventure enthusiast and road trip captain. In so many ways, he has encouraged me to explore more, challenge myself, open my mind, and try things I never thought I would. From outdoor adventures to new habits and new hobbies to deeper reflection, my worldview and understanding of myself and the world around me has expanded and grown so much. As for road tripping, I actually did my fair share of driving, secured some memorable playlists, finally learned to love cruise control, and I enjoyed our journey so much that by the end of it, I was already plotting the next one.

I think it is very important to give yourself the chance to try new things and learn more about what's possible and enjoyable beyond what you always thought or expected that would look like. Because of my own experience, and from what I have seen in others I care for, I am now more invested in being an advocate for exploring more, further inquiry, getting out of your comfort zone, and allowing yourself a chance to learn and try new things about yourself and others. You never know what you might discover, and hopefully you'll enjoy the process as well.
